Kennedy attended Arlington Lamar High School, graduating in 1992. He continued his athletic and academic career at Trinity Valley Community College in 1992 and later at Northeastern Oklahoma State University from 1993–1996.

Tony Kennedy played football at Trinity Valley Community College before transferring to Northeastern Oklahoma State University, where he competed from 1993–1996. During his collegiate playing career, he was part of the 1994 NAIA National Championship team and the 1995 NAIA National Finalist team.
Kennedy began his coaching career at the high school level before serving in multiple coordinator roles across Fort Worth ISD, including at Fort Worth Polytechnic High School, Eastern Hills High School, and O.D. Wyatt High School, where he specialized in offensive coordination, quarterback development, and passing game strategy.
In his coaching career, Kennedy also served as the Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator at Dallas Inspired Vision Academy. He later joined Lake Worth ISD as the Middle School Athletic Coordinator while also coaching quarterbacks at the high school level and leading the golf program as Head Coach.
In his current role at Wichita Falls Legacy High School, Kennedy serves as the Associate Head Coach and Assistant Athletic Coordinator for Boys’ Athletics, where he continues to impact student-athletes through leadership, player development, and program management.

Kennedy has coached numerous athletes who have gone on to compete at the collegiate level.

1994 NAIA National Champion (as a collegiate athlete)
1995 NAIA National Finalist
Development of quarterbacks and offensive systems across multiple Fort Worth ISD programs
Leadership experience as a Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Kennedy is the son of Ann Kennedy. He is the proud father of Haller Faye and the grandfather of Wesley James and Charlotte Anne.
