Hott graduated from Rider High School in 2016. He later earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Midwestern State University after previously attending Hill Junior College, where he played collegiate baseball for two years.

Coach Koby Hott began his athletic career as a student-athlete at Rider High School before continuing his baseball career at Hill Junior College for two years. He later returned to Midwestern State University, where he completed his degree in Special Education.
For the past 10 years, Hott has coached travel baseball teams at all age levels from 12U–18U, gaining extensive experience in player development, fundamentals, and program building. He previously taught and coached at McNiel Middle School before joining Wichita Falls Legacy High School in 2024 to begin his high school coaching career.
During the 2024–2025 season, Hott served as a varsity football coach as the Head Safeties Coach while also working as an Assistant Baseball Coach. For the 2025–2026 school year, he transitioned into the role of Head Freshman Football Coach, where he now leads the next generation of Legacy athletes.

Coach Hott is the proud owner of one puppy, Lucy Lou.
