Billings graduated with a Bachelor’s of Behavioral Science in Mass Communications from Hardin-Simmons University in 2004. He completed post-graduate work in Education and earned his Texas Teaching Certification in 2007.

Coach Billings has dedicated 18 years to the coaching profession and has coached every position on the football field throughout his career. He has served as a Head Football Coach for three years and has held both Offensive and Defensive Coordinator roles.
Billings began his coaching career at Rotan High School (2007–2008), followed by stops at Spur High School (2008–2010) and Kress High School (2010–2011). He then served as the Defensive Coordinator at Loraine High School (2011–2012) before becoming the Head Football Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Hermleigh High School (2012–2013).
From 2013–2016, Billings served as Head Football Coach at Vernon Northside High School and later coached at Quanah High School (2016–2017). He then spent seven seasons at Hirschi High School (2017–2024) before joining Wichita Falls Legacy High School in 2025. He currently coaches the Inside Linebackers after coaching in the Secondary last season.

Billings has coached numerous athletes who have gone on to play college football at multiple levels.
